The house
Casa da Mina is an Alentejo farmhouse built the way they used to be: walls whitewashed white, an ochre band running along the floor line, green shutters that close against the midday heat. The ceilings are exposed timber and tile, the floors terracotta that stays cool even in August.
It was never turned into a hotel. It is still a house — with a fireplace in the sitting room, a long solid-wood table that seats everyone, and a kitchen built for people who like to cook.
Where it is
In the Alentejo, surrounded by olive trees, with the plain opening out to the horizon. In the morning you hear birds and not much else; late in the day the sky does the thing it only does here.
Close enough to drive out for dinner, far enough that you won't hear a soul.
How we host
We leave the house ready and step back. We're reachable at any hour if you need something, but nobody will be knocking on your door.
The pool is for your use only. The house is let whole — you'll never share the space with other guests.
